Berko did everything but score on Thursday night at White Hart Lane in a match that finished goalless. At least the point earned was enough to move back up to 7th in the table. Mick Vipond gave a debut at right back to Tommy Twelves, who has come through the club’s under 18 and reserve sides this season. Harry Sedgley and Connor Calcutt also won recalls.

A corner from Frankie Jowle was met by a strong header from Calcutt that went just the wrong side of the bar. At the other end Chris Morgan fired over the bar. Jowle had the beating of his full back on the large pitch and Calcutt went close from another of his crosses. Just before the interval Borough had men over on the right but fired over the bar.

In the second half the Borough goal led a charmed life with Josh Chamberlain, Jowle and Calcutt all spurning chances from close range. Borough had a few breakaway chances but Bradley O’Donovan saw a shot kicked off the line by a Berko defender from the clearest one. The closing stages were all Berko and Lewis Pritchard finally got the ball in the net only to see it chalked off as offside. There was then an almighty scramble in the Borough goal mouth from a Bekim Culaj corner.

Berko have two tricky Premier division games at Broadwater this week, entertaining Ampthill Town on Saturday and unbeaten division leaders Dunstable Town on Tuesday 19th.

Berko went to the top ofand George Macausland also scored before Connor Toomey slid the ball past the advancing keeper to make it 3-0. The keeper won a challengew with Mitchell Cole but only clearead the ball to the left wing and Morrissey saw him off his line and placed the ball superbly to make it 4-0 at half time.

Mosrrissey had the chance of a hat trick but his penalty kick was saved. Joe Sweeney used all his substitutes and the goals kept coming in the second half. Ryan Pereira, Cole and Toomey adding further goals.

On Thursday 21st Berko will be at home to Hemel Hempstead Town knowing a win would be good enough to take the title and go through to the play offs with the other divisional winners..
