On Tuesday 24th the pre-season friendlies kick off when Berko entertain Crawley Green at Broadwater k.o.7:45pm. The two sides met in the FA Cup last season with Berko coming out on top in a close game. There will be at least 5 new signings in the Berko  line up.

Berkhamsted have their first competitive game of the season on Saturday when they entertain division 1 side Harpenden Town in the Herts. Charity Shield k.o.3pm. Mick Vipond will be fielding a younger Berko side this season and is hoping to add a few players to his squad before the game, including at least one striker and a centre back. One player to look out for from the visitors is Jimmy Hill, who last season won the golden boot for being the highest goalscorer of the 58 clubs in the Spartan South Midlands League. If the scores are level after 90 minutes, the match will go to a penalty shoot out. There will be plenty of local interest in the game with the winners travelling to Tring Athletic or Hoddesdon Town in the quarter final.

On Tuesday 31st at 7:45pm Berko entertain Chesham United in a friendly that is sure to pull in a large crowd. United are a couple of divisions above Berko but have at least one face that is familiar to the Broadwater, faithful, prolific striker Michael Chennells, who played for the old Berkhamsted Town side under Simon Lane.
