AFC DUNSTABLE  2 v 4 BERKHAMSTED

The Youth Team progressed to the quarter- final of the Colwyn Cup as they secured a  fine 4-2 victory over AFC Dunstable at Creasey Park.

Berko took the lead early on, after some great attacking play by Courtney Hart led to a ball into the box, which Jordon Aikman finished well.

This was the only goal of the first half and although they started the 2nd half very well, AFC equalized after a defensive mix up. The boys did not let this goal effect them, and after some superb disciplined team play, Berko grabbed their second from a header at the far post by George Macausland.

With confidence now oozing from all areas, we went further ahead through Chris Chance. After some superb wing play on the left hand side, he gave his marker the slip, and finished smartly after rounding the keeper.

However, at 3-1, this game was far from over, and after some pressure on the Berko goal, their forward found some space in the box, which allowed him to turn and finish well.

Now at 3-2, and Dunstable on the up, the game could have slipped away, but Berko showed determination and character to fight back. The team effort was rewarded as Jordon Aikman finished well for his second of the night to secure the win and give the squad a quarter final tie against Oxhey Jets to look forward to.

With 4 senior players out through injury, the team finished the game with three of their 15 yr olds on the field, which is encouraging for the future.
