Comrades Squad Begins to Take Shape

With pre-season training now well under way, our squad for the coming season has started to take shape as we prepare for our first season in the Premier Division.

Familiar faces already signed up are Eddie Farmer, Jamie Gavin, Mark Welling, Lewis Rodrigoe, Tony Burnett, Aaron Usmani, Jordan Toomey, Lawrence Bunker, Dan Wright, Josh Chamberlain, Steve Hawes and Matt Wardle.

Holidays and work commitments mean there are more players yet to return, and Micky has also been busy selecting his targets to strengthen the squad.

New arrivals are Mark Burgess, a centre-half or midfielder who was a regular with Northwood last season along with another former ‘Wood man Matt Jarvis.

Cameron Keast joins the Comrades from Bedford Town, having played the bulk of his football with Quorn, whilst young keeper Freddie Hester joins from Potton United and Adam Balletta returns having signed with the reserves towards the end of last season.

One definite departure is Jimmy Armstrong, who has opted to continue terrorising Division One defences with Kings Langley, and everyone at the Comrades would like to wish Jim the very best of fortune at Gaywood Park.

Our Championship campaign last season has attracted interest from a host of more senior clubs looking at the talent we have, but Micky is working hard to retain the pool of players he has brought together, and strengthen for what will be a tough campaign.

With a month of pre-season yet to go, we will keep you up all to date on all the ins and outs at Broadwater.
