Comrades Receive Great News from Herts FA

With memories of a Championship winning season and an enjoyable Presentation Night still fresh in the memory, the Club received more fantastic news from Hertfordshire County FA this week.

The Comrades have been invited to take part in the Herts FA Charity Shield, a competition featuring all the senior non-league sides in the county. The First Round is usually scheduled in pre-season, with the subsequent rounds held under floodlights.

The Club has won the Sir Stanley Rous Memorial Trophy, the Herts FA Achievement Award which will be presented to the Club at a game in the new season.

The Trophy (pictured above at Vicarage Road) is awarded to a league, club or individual who, through their own successes achieved most to promote the name of Hertfordshire football.

The Comrades not only recorded a new Spartan South Midlands League points record with 107 points from 40 games, but also a national record for 2010-11 season.

Past winners are Stevenage Borough (four times), Watford (twice), Phil Sharp (World Cup lino), Gossoms End (Reaching National Cup final) and Ware.
