Renovation Work Starts at Broadwater

No sooner had the dressing rooms been cleaned after the Mark Osborne Charity Match on Sunday, work started on preparing the pitch for next season.

It’s easy to think that following the last game of the season, the work at a football club eases off. In fact, it is the exact opposite.

Initial work was concentrated on the area in front of the dug outs.
Then we sand banded the areas prone to water retention.
Next came 63 tonnes of root-zone – a 70% loam/30% sand mix spread as required.
Fertilizer came next, followed by seed-drilling and harrowing.
Sincere thanks to Roger Lambert, Will Aiton, Steve Davis and CH Grounds for all their hard work.
We now need some rain and sunshine to help germinate the seed’
