Comrades Update

It’s an overcast afternoon here at Broadwater, but a nice temperature for football.

1505: Gilt-edged chance for Berko as a sweet Jamie Gavin cross was headed back to the edge of the six-yard box where Matt Wardle connected well but fired over.

1512: Bad news for the Comrades as Steve Hawes is stretchered off with what appears to be an achilles injury, James Watts replacing him.

1516: A couple of excellent stops from Eddie Farmer keep the game goalless, Adam Bone looking lively for the visitors.

1519: Berko get the breakthrough, a magnificent run by Wardle ends with a lay-off for James Armstrong who strokes the ball home. 1-0

1522: Almost a carbon copy as Wardle sets up Burnett, but he can only direct the ball wide.

1543: Armstrong doubles the lead from the spot after being upended making a darting run in the box. 2-0

1545: Tony Burnett directs the game with some excellent wing play and delivery. Bad news regarding Steve Hawes as it looks like a serious ankle injury.

1549: It’s half-time here with the Comrades 2-0 to the good.

1611: Six minutes into the second half and Armstrong completes his hat-trick with a cheeky goal, after nicking the ball off a defender. 3-0

1612: Buckingham pull one back as Frankey Tarrant drills home. 3-1

1623: A promising free-kick for the Comrades, but it is well blocked. The game is still far from over.

1629: That could be the goal Berko needed as Aaron Usmani unleashes a fierce drive into the top corner from a tight angle. Just over 20 minutes left. 4-1

1631: And now it’s five as Usmani heads home from the edge of the six-yard box. 5-1

1634: Making his home debut for the Comrades, Chris Gregory replaces Tony Burnett.

1637: Buckingham introduce Mo Deris for Andy Hammond.

1639: Lee Groves replaces Matt Wardle for the Comrades whilst Buckingham make their last change as Frankey Tarrant is replaced by Chris Brunning.

1643: The visitors pull another goal as Jonathan Cater follows up after Farmer had saved well. 5-2

1647: Final minutes and the visitors are pressing.

Final score: 5-2
