It looks like being a lovely afternoon for football at Broadwater.

1503 : First foray into the visitors box, Adam Mead putting Matt Wardle wide, but the keeper clawed in his low cross.

1506 : A classic counter by Berko, Si Carmichael heads clear, Bunker lays the ball off and Mark Wardle raced clear before crossing for Armstrong, whose shot was well saved, his follow up going wide.

1510 : Lawrence Bunker races clear, but picks the wrong way to get round the keeper, who blocks.

1516 : After a stoppage for an injury to Jessop in the Citizens goal, the visitors have their first chance, Skipp firing wide.

1520 : Burnett lays off for Wardle to lob wide, and we have our third stoppage through injury.

1523 : Welwyn make an enforced change striker Carl Smith replacing Andrew Hutchinson and reorganise their team.

1529 : The Welwyn physio is the busiest person on the park as he tends to another casualty.

1531 : Welwyn defender Rob Carroll gets a yellow for clipping Bunker as he ran at at goal, and Jim Carmichael shot wide as the resulting free-kick fell to him at the back post.

1532 : Great work by Usmani who then finds Mead, and his excellent volley is brilliantly pained to safety by Jessop.

1538 : More excellent approach play as Burnett feeds Bunker, but again, the Welwyn defence shuts the door.

1544 : A moment of controversy as Jessop fells Armstrong one-on-one at the edge of the box, but it’s no penalty or free-kick.

1547 : And it’s Jessop again, who has had a great first half in the Citizens goal, diverting a powerful Burnett shot over with a one-handed save.

1552 : Usmani goes close, following a decent cross from Burnett.

1554 : Bunker gets the breakthrough from the penalty spot 1-0.

1557 : Matty Wardle picks up a knock just on half-time, fingers crossed for the second half.

Half-time : Comrades 1-0 Citizens

1612 : We’re away again, and Matty Wardle has returned. On the down side, it looks like rain.

1614 : You were right Ian! It’s 2-0 now thanks to a superb drive from Adam Mead, that Jessop got fingertips too.

1617 : Welwyn’s Martin Skipp goes into the book after a confrontation with Adam Mead.

1623 : Great chance for Armstrong to continue his goal-a-game record, but Jessop dipped down to palm wide.

1627 : Clever play from Burnett, who first wins the ball, them takes it back, and puts it on a plate for Armstrong to head home. 3-0

1629 : Welwyn survive a scramble at the far post.

1639 : Si Carmichael heads just over from a corner.

1632 : The rain is bouncing down now, and Mead tests Jessop again, who palms onto the bar, but somehow, Armstrong nods the rebound wide. Jessop his hurt, but manfully carries on.

1636 : Despite conceding three goals, Mark Jessop has been the best player on the park, stopping Bunker from close range after a great passing move.

1638 : Ade Osobu fires a loose ball over as Welwyn threaten.

1641 : Double change for Berko, scorers Bunker and Armstrong being rested and replaced by Jamie Gavin and Lee Groves.

1643 : Obosu clips the ball gamely into Eddie Farmers arms as Welwyn maintain their effort.

1648 : Tony Burnett goes on a great run, but blasts over, and the Comrades make a final change as Paolo Aquila replaces Adam Mead.

1651 : Matty Wardle fires just wide.

1655 : It’s game on at Broadwater, Kieron Wilson and Ade Osobu taking advantage of lazy defending to pull two goals back. 3-2

1659 : Berko ride out a few nervous minutes for another three points.
