Celebrity Footballers descend on Broadwater for Charity Match

Two days after the Club’s Presentation Night, Marc Bircham’s Celebrity XI took on Stoneforce Limited, in memory of Lee Williams, to raise money for the Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted, and the Comrades.

A good sized crowd were well entertained by a 5-5 draw, with the Celebrities going on to clinch the penalty shoot out 5-4.

The highlight for Stoneforce was a hat-trick from Regan Smith, who also benefited from an own goal from former England and Yorkshire cricketer Darren Gough, who recently saw fame as the winner of Celebrity Come Dancing, but he did bag a penalty to even things out.

Dennis Wise was the pick of the bunch for the Celebrity XI, whilst Watford legend Luther Blissett also caught the eye, playing the full ninety-minutes and netting a penalty himself.
